Sardarjis
The portrait series Sardarjis consists of 10 portraits of young Sikh men living in Delhi.
The most obvious visual characteristic of Sikh men is wearing a turban.
Sikhs, men and women, are not allowed to cut their hair. One portrait reveals the long uncut hair underneath the turban.
Delhi has a large Sikh community and as such young Sikh men are a distinctive yet familiar sight on the streets of the Indian capital.
The intention of this portrait series is to show a young and confident generation of Sikh men.
